This Privacy Policy explains what information SassyText ("we," "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using SassyText you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Account & identity: if you sign in, the email address and basic profile from your chosen sign-in provider (e.g. Google). Guests are identified only by a random cookie.
Gameplay: the scenarios you play, the intentions you type, and the story/images generated for you, so your campaigns persist.
Payments: handled by our payment processor. We receive confirmation and payment amounts; we do not store full card numbers.
Usage & device: pages visited, referrer, approximate location derived from IP, and timestamps, to understand and improve the Service.

2. How we use it

to run the game — saving campaigns, tracking your balance, and generating story and art;
to operate, secure, debug, and improve the Service;
to process payments and prevent fraud or abuse;
to comply with legal obligations, including the law where you're connecting from: each turn looks up which state or country your IP address is in, and records it with the turn.

3. AI processing

To generate story text and images, the intentions you submit and relevant campaign context are sent to third-party AI model providers. We share only what is needed to produce your turn. Those providers process the data under their own terms; we choose providers with that in mind.

Speech to text

You consent to using temporary audio data for speech-to-text purposes. When you press Speak on the play page, what you say is recorded in your browser and sent, through OpenRouter, to a transcription provider that keeps no data. The audio is discarded as soon as its words come back; we keep only the words you then send as your turn. Nothing is recorded unless you press Speak.

Read aloud

Read aloud is off unless you turn it on, on the play page. When it's on, the story's text is sent to a speech provider (xAI, through OpenRouter) to be read aloud. The audio that comes back is kept, so a line is never made twice. Your own lines are never sent.

4. Cookies

We use a small number of first-party cookies to keep you signed in (or to identify your guest session) and to run the site. We do not use third-party advertising trackers. Analytics are first-party and aggregate.

5. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run SassyText (hosting, payments, AI models, email), and where required by law.

6. Retention and your choices

We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated campaigns via the contact page. Clearing cookies ends a guest session.

7. Children

SassyText is for adults only and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
